Bob Daniels

Dr. Bob Daniels is a co-founder and Vice President of Technology at Phazr Inc., a 5G startup offering products in Q4 2017 for millimeter-wave gigabit-per-second fixed and mobile wireless access systems. 

Prior to Phazr Bob was a co-founder and CEO of Kuma Signals, LLC (formed in 2009 in Austin, TX).  At Kuma, Bob led fundraising efforts for 6 years of business operations.  He also served as the technical lead on many Department of Defense engagements that transferred cutting-edge wireless communication technology to military subsystems.  Bob is an expert in digital wireless communications and its practical application, especially for the design of multi-user, mobile, wideband, and multiple-antenna wireless communication networks. 

He is a co-author on the best-selling 5G textbook “Millimeter Wave Wireless Communications,” published by Prentice Hall in 2014, as well as dozens of peer-reviewed IEEE publications. Dr. Daniels is experienced in many commercial and military wireless protocols.  He has been the sole architect of several RF-proven physical layer implementations through general purpose and special purpose hardware for various standards, including IEEE 802.11a/b/g/p/n/ac and the Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW).  

He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
