Nisar Yakoob is a Chief Transformation Strategist in Nokia’s Global Transformation team where he brings together Nokia and its eco-system’s capabilities to enable Nokia’s strategic customers to transform towards virtualized and digital service providers. Prior to this, he was a Partner in Bell Labs Consulting Services managing the Network & Operations Excellence practice for CALA and Canadian markets.
Nisar is based in US and has more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications and IT covering a broad set of roles from strategy development through execution. Nisar has led operations and network transformation programs for global service providers with a particular focus on optimizing costs, simplifying operations, and improving agility. Examples of such projects include: M&A driven consolidation and transformation; virtualization (NFV/SDN) roadmaps across network and operations; CLV driven customer experience definition; and legacy migration with effectiveness measures tied to cost, revenue, and customer satisfaction. These programs required strategic leverage of company-wide expertise, global best practices, relevant benchmarks, and Nokia Bell Labs models, tools and methodologies.
Nisar has broad set of experience across R&D, product management, business development, and consulting. Nisar started his career with AT&T Bell Laboratories in its R&D organization, followed by leading product management, consulting and business development roles in Lucent, Alcatel-Lucent, and Nokia. He has lived and worked in US, Europe, Middle East, and South America with executive roles on long term international assignments in Russia/CIS region, Brazil for CALA region, and Saudi Arabia with the charters to establish software products, services and consulting presence in the regions.
